Like Mr. Hogan, you’ll become a wizard around the greens with the right Equalizer II wedge set-up in your bag, and some good, old-fashioned practice.
progressive center of mass
Shot trajectories to help you score better
The larger face size on Equalizer II wedges maximize and perfect the Progressive Center of Mass system from wedge to wedge.
Higher lofted wedges have more weight low to create high trajectories that stop on the green quickly, while lower lofted wedges have more weight positioned higher on the face to eliminate ballooning and increase accuracy.
Overall, the Equalizer II wedge club heads have been lengthened and discretionary weight has been removed from the perimeters. As a result, the thickness of the face area was thinned strategically behind the impact area depending upon loft and desired performance.
FORGED – 1025 CARBON STEEL
Feel and feedback only a forged wedge can provide
Feel and feedback are critical on and around the greens. Forged wedges can help tell you if you’ve made solid contact with the ball. This is will help you develop a pure, repeatable swing as you ‘dig it out of the dirt’ like Mr. Hogan did.
Forged irons and wedges provide the feel and feedback that investment cast irons simply can’t provide. That’s because the forging process allows steel to maintain molecular integrity and uniform grain flow; things that are destroyed when metal material is melted down into liquid form.
More importantly, though, a forged club will be a uniform, soft density from toe to heel, and sole to topline. A forged wedge will provide consistent performance because hot spots and / or imperfections in the hitting area are eliminated.
V-SOLE / TEXAS GRIND
Soles designed with soul
We continue to improve upon our innovative V-Sole® designs ... the most versatile sole in golf. With a high bounce leading edge and a softer, more gradual trailing edge, Equalizer II wedges glide through any turf condition or sand consistency.
Our new Texas Grind sole configuration was inspired by the hardpan conditions in and around our offices in Fort Worth. Extreme sole and heel relief reduce interaction with the ground significantly to eliminate fat or chunked shots. The tour-inspired sole geometry also allows the clubhead to be laid wide open making it easier to pick shots clean of even the tightest of lies.
PRECISION MLLED FACE AND GROOVES
A face everybody can love
The face of a wedge is where the rubber meets the road. If ball contact isn’t optimized, especially around the green, nothing else matters.
That’s why we CNC mill the face of Equalizer II wedges. It’s an extra step that we take to ensure that the face is absolutely, completely flat and free from any imperfections. Plus, it allows us to add a slightly textured surface between the grooves for more spin.
And speaking of spin, you’ll love how fast your short shots ... those taken with less than a full swing ... stop on the green. Equalizer II wedges incorporate the most aggressive U-shaped grooves allowed. We machine cut these into the face at precise 0.40” increments after the forging and finishing processes are complete. The result? Less run out on the green and more shots left closer to the hole.
